March ARB Air Show Swear-In

I went to a YSA Kickoff Party in Rancho Cucamonga. I went with my friend Glenn and we got to hang out with other church members and meet new people (since there was a blood drive for Red Cross) and we got to eat some fresh burgers and hotdogs (knowing me, I got both) and some delicious watermelon!

Later, around 12:15pm, Glenn and I headed out to go to March ARB for my little swear-in (I've already sworn-in back in February) Our recruiter wanted us to do it at the Air Show to get that experience. So we had to practice marching and getting everything down before we officially do it with the Thunderbird's (amazing pilots in the USAF) and in front of 10,000 people.

It was amazing because I got to hear everyone applaud while we were about to do our thing and while we were standing in front of everyone, doing the Oath of Enlistment, F-15's and other aircraft's were flying above our heads and I just felt goosebumps, my heart was racing, it was my motivation... And I knew this is what I wanted to do.

General Conference!

So General Conference was awesome. Even though I didn't get the chance to go to Utah... I was still able to watch it online. And it was awesome. I liked all the talks that were given and I loved the choir and while I was watching... Guess who I saw?

David Archuleta! LOLOLOL.

Yes, if you didn't know, he's Mormon. And he's finally going on a mission! This choir, filled with young men and women, are from the MTC in Provo, Utah (where Indigo is currently in too) and MTC is Missionary Training Center. Where potential Elders and Sisters are going to prepare themselves to head out and help spread the gospel of God. I don't know where David's going but to see him in the choir is good, exciting and awesome... I was shocked! I was like, "Wait. I know that guy. BUT WHERE?!" and then I remembered. How awesome is that? So he will soon be serving his two-year mission! Yay!

I don't think I can make it to the next General Conference this year... Sad. I was hoping to go to this year's one because I know I won't make it to the one that will happen in six months. (General Conference is twice a year) but one day, I'll do it. :)

Otter Saves Lives Everyday.

Yesterday was probably one of the best days that has ever happened to me since Blue Fox. Here’s why:

First, I booked my first choice in the USAF. YES!

Second, as I was on my way to the post office to send some packages, some guy was on his BMX bike and I don’t know if he was trying to pass me but he rode off the sidewalk and onto the road while doing this jump of some sort and instead, he skid and fell on the road five feet away from me. I was shocked but he was hurt…

Otter: Ohmygod, are you okay?!
Guy: Yeah, I’m fine… (gets up)
Otter: Are you sure? Was I in your way?
Guy: Oh, no no. I was just being stupid…
Otter: Are you hurt?
Guy: Um, a little. It’s not too bad. (picks up bike and limps)
Otter: Are you bleeding?
Guy: (checks) Eh, a little…
Otter: Oh no~ Wait. I have a bandaid and alcohol. (takes out mini First Aid from my bag)
Guy: Wow, you’re prepared.
Otter: Haha, mhm~ (rubs off the blood with wetones, applies rubbing alcohol and puts a bandaid)
Guy: Thanks
Otter: No problem!
Curtis: My name’s Curtis.
Otter: I’m Otter.
Us: (shakes hands)
Curtis: Thanks again for the bandaid~
Otter: You’re welcome~
Curtis: Well… See ya’ (rides off his bike and smiles)
Otter: See ya’ (smiles)

Yes, I have a mini First Aid kit in my bag. Some people think (and always thought) I was weird for having it in my bag but you never know what’s going to happen! But PB called me a “weirdo” because I touch random people. But look, another reason why I should have it in my bag! I saved a super cute guy from an infection! ♡

Lastly, my favorite and lucky number is “8” so a lot of good things happen to me when an “8” appears or I have a connection with those of “8”s and since it was on March 14… 3 + 1 + 4 = 8! Awesome!

That’s all I wanted to share.

DEP CC: Hiking "C" Mountain.

So finally, I'm online. I haven't been online since Thursday! Sad face.

Anyways!

March 03, 2012: I had a DEP Commanders Call (CC) and we had a hiking trip. I was pretty excited about it because I haven't hiked in so long so I was stoked. So we meet up at University Village (which is like, 15 minute walk away from my house) and I meet up with the early ones and I get there at 8:30am. We had to wait for everyone else to come and show up... And all the late ones had to sing "I'm A Little Teapot", with the dance moves AND do it enthusiastically. Some of them were sore losers about it but honestly, that's not even close to what you'll get in basic training because they will make you do things that are beyond embarrassing. So, be prepared.
