Four More Weeks.

Four more weeks until I leave for the United States Air Force BMT (Basic Military Training).

So many emotions are interacting all at once and I don't know how to deal. But I'm sorry that I haven't been posting as much as I want to. I'll try and get it all out there before I leave though.

Just thinking about it makes me nervous and when I'm nervous, I got to go poop... Real bad. Sigh.

But I'll surely miss you, Turtle. I know I'm not leaving YET but I just want to put that out there so you know right now. :)

March ARB Air Show Swear-In

I went to a YSA Kickoff Party in Rancho Cucamonga. I went with my friend Glenn and we got to hang out with other church members and meet new people (since there was a blood drive for Red Cross) and we got to eat some fresh burgers and hotdogs (knowing me, I got both) and some delicious watermelon!

Later, around 12:15pm, Glenn and I headed out to go to March ARB for my little swear-in (I've already sworn-in back in February) Our recruiter wanted us to do it at the Air Show to get that experience. So we had to practice marching and getting everything down before we officially do it with the Thunderbird's (amazing pilots in the USAF) and in front of 10,000 people.

It was amazing because I got to hear everyone applaud while we were about to do our thing and while we were standing in front of everyone, doing the Oath of Enlistment, F-15's and other aircraft's were flying above our heads and I just felt goosebumps, my heart was racing, it was my motivation... And I knew this is what I wanted to do.

Baptism!

I'm about to leave for church and then, later at around 5pm, I'm going to attend someone's baptism!

I'm kind of excited because I've never seen a grown person being baptized before. I've only seen babies being baptized and that kind of sucks because they don't even know what's going on unlike if it's a grown person, they know why they are being baptized.

I can't wait! OH, did you know I'll be baptized next Sunday?! YEAH!

Super duper excited,

USAF Jobs!

Here are the jobs that I selected: (they will be in the order that I wanted them to be)

Still Photography
Aircraft Armament Systems Apprentice
Aerospace Physiology
Physical Medicine
Cardiopulmonary Laboratory
Health Services Technician
Surgical Service
Diet Therapy
Diagnostic Imaging
Histopathology
General Aptitude Area
Pharmacy

With "Still Photography", since I was initially going to go in wanting to do anything that was linked to public affairs and journalism and still be around planes, jets and be an aerial photographer... I put it as my first choice but I have a gut feeling that I won't be lucky to get a spot (and I'm actually okay with that)

With "Aircraft Armament Systems Apprentice", it's like a bomb loader. You'll place bombs and missiles onto jets and other aircraft's before they fly. And that job requires testing and evaluating new weapons systems to inspecting, repairing and loading ordnance so these specialists make sure that when a pilot pulls the trigger, the right thing happens.

With "Aerospace Physiology" (specialist) it's where you teach pilots and aircrews the skills they need to handle in-flight emergencies when something goes wrong at 50,000 feet. You'll conduct training for all emergency devices needed while flying, such as oxygen masks, pressure suits, ejection seats, night vision and the use of parachuting techniques. If an aircrew member needs treatment after an emergency, you may provide it via a hyperbaric chamber. Basically the things you learn, teach and do will be instrumental in ensuring the health and safety of the flying Airmen.

Originally, when I was 13~14 years old, when I wanted to enlist in the Air Force I wanted to be a "Flight Medic" and I still want to but I might transition to it when I re-enlist. I also wanted to be a "Pararescue" (or also known as "PJ's"/Parachute Jumpers) but I found out that it was only for men. Oh well. I can see why it's for men anyways. LOL.

However, I still want to be able to reach out to different fields in jobs so I'll do it slowly. And at the same time, go to school. Get at least one degree and then see if I can do multiple degrees throughout my career and go from there.

I'm excited!,

USAF Process.

So this coming Wednesday, I'll be heading down to the recruiters office and I'll be sent to the hotel and Thursday, I have to get up at 4am and head down to the hospital for the MEPS process. (Yippy.)

Once I've sworn in, (hopefully it's the day of) all I have to do is wait for one of my job selections (the jobs that I have selected that I wanted to do based on my ASVAB score; which is basically like an entrance test and sees what kind of jobs you're capable of doing based on your general knowledge.) and when the Air Force has an opening for a job and it's one of the ones I selected (I picked about 10+) then my recruiter will call me, ask if I want to take it and if I take it, she will book me a spot and give me the date.

Then more processing happens. I go back for a MEPS check up (yeah, they do one before you leave for basic training) and then they will give me a brief summary of things and then put me on a bus to the airport and then I'll head to Texas, get picked up by a shuttle/bus and then go to the Lackland AFB where BMT (basic military training) will start.

USAF NEWS!

So today, I went to my USAF appointment and I finally spoke to a recruiter, Ssgt. Ashley Fears, and she looked up my files hoping that my stuff would be easy stuff and luckily for her, it was. It didn't take too long for her to open up my files and see what I have done in the last year... She saw that I have done my physicals (MEPS) and she has seen my ASVAB (aptitude test), I even asked her if I had to do the physicals again because a previous recruiter told me that it was only good for a year, but she said that I wouldn't have to because it's good for two years. THANK GOD. She made a few calls on how to make the process with an applicant coming from Guam and found out that she will have to do a MEPS-to-MEPS pull; meaning that she would need my current Guam recruiter to send over my stuff and once that goes smoothly, Ssgt. Ashley Fears can schedule me to go to LA and do a re-check up on my MEPS at a official MEPS facility. And after that, I can be sworn in and hopefully get a job... Since I'm thinking of going in as 'general open', hopefully I can get a spot and Ssgt. Fears said that when I go enlist as 'open', then I can get a ship-date within a month or so and I can be in basic training before summer.

FREAKING. AWESOME. AND ABOUT. TIME.

So, I'm pretty stoked! I mean, I left the recruiting office in a good mood, I even treated our neighbor German to Subway (with coupons, since we have a bunch at home) and we plan on celebrating with booze at the end of the month because he can't drink just yet. LOL. I don't know why BUT I DON'T CARE. I'M ON MY EFFIN' WAY!

Final-effing-ly,
Otter

USAF Appointment

In four hours and 30 minutes, I have an appointment with a USAF recruiter regarding my situation and hopefully, I can get on DEP and wait for a job soon. I have to ask them if I have to do the physicals again since it's been a year since my last one (and it's only good for a year) so, if they tell me that I have to do it again... I suppose I have to? (laughs) I just hope that the physical examiner won't make me do push ups, butt-naked, striped down and HELLA freezing in the hospital again. The last time I did it, my skin was so white and my fingers were so blue. That's how cold it was in the hospital and I had to be naked on top of that! It was a sad moment, and to make things even more awkward... The examiner was a butch-lady. So, I'm afraid to even think that she was... Swaying that way.

Anywhooooo, I hope I can move out soon if I get on DEP quicker than I hope. Actually, sooner than soon... So I can move out of the apartment of my best friend so she can have more privacy with her boyfriend. (because, you know... That... You know.)

Our neighbor, German, is going to drop me off because it's only 13-minutes by car but if I were to take the bus, I'll be on the bus for an hour and thirty minutes. Sigh. So, he'll be taking me and we'll go out for lunch. Hooray!

My best friend left for her first class today and she is officially back to school! I hope that she does well this quarter and gets her grades up. I am proud of her for going through school and getting her degree~ She's almost done and I hope she sticks it out.

Anyways, I shall walk Astro and Quazi, eat and then get ready.

I'll blog you later, friends!

HOUNGRYYYYY,

"I'll see you tomorrow" ♡

I have the address of Blue Fox's apartment and the mailing address. Woot! I'm excited. I texted him saying that he should sleep now because he has a PT test tomorrow in the morning so he has to wake up before 5am to get ready... But then, he called me for a little bit before he heads to bed.

Blue Fox: I was studying but now, I'm about to go to sleep because I have physical training tomorrow in the morning.
Otter: I know, that's why you should sleep now.
Blue Fox: Mhmm. For the mailing address, it could be different for you but it's different here? But! Do what you want. (laughs)
Otter: Fine, I'll do it your way...
Blue Fox: Mhmm...
Otter: Go sleep now.
Blue Fox: Okay...
Otter: Goodnight~
Blue Fox: I'll see you tomorrow...
(hangs up)

OMG, I SERIOUSLY CAN'T BELIEVE IT! WOOT!

See YOU tomorrow,
Otter

Blue Fox is Nervous? Wow.

Blue Fox: Are you nervous coming?
Otter: Very. I'm worried, nervous, scared, excited, happy and a little jittery.
Blue Fox: To be honest, three days ago, when you told me that you were coming... I was scared and nervous because you're coming so quickly but after five minutes, I got over it and I was excited.
Otter: Awwww...
Blue Fox: Half of me is guilty for pushing you to come so early but the other half of me is like "Yessss! She's finally coming~!"

I'll be picked up by him and his roommate. I'm scared, worried, nervous and happy at the same time.

I'm so jittery right now... I feel like I'm going to throw up butterflies.
