Otter's Leaving A Day Early.

I just finished my DEP CC today and I spoke to my recruiter about the issue that Michelle (a girl from the October group) brought up about October 30th LA-DEP's leaving to the hotel on the 28th and leaving for Lackland on the 29th. I brought it up to my recruiter and she wasn't told such BUT looked in the system and found out to be true.

We played a really fun game called "Story" (I think that's what it's called) and it's pretty fun. You have a group of people in a circle and one person starts off. This is how it goes.

First person to start the game: Once...
Second person in line: Once there...
Third person in line: Once there was...

And it goes around the circle until someone messes up.

So for example:

First person to start the game: Once...
Second person in line: Once there...
Third person in line: Once there was...
Fourth person in line: Once there was a...
Fifth person in line: Once there was a dog who.

If someone messed up on a word or adds two words, you're out. LOL. Or continues without saying the rest of the sentence.

SO, we had a few when we started the sentence like "Cool" the person was suppose to say "Cool Story" but just said "Story". HAHAHAHAHA. XD

OH, and PS: I lost three pounds. YAY! (Thanks to the Insanity workout)

Also, we meshed with two new recruiters and we're adding 25 new DEP'rs on our team. SO, yeah. Now we're about 45 people. And we had one guy, Jonathan, cancel and got his DEP place terminated. That sucks because I had dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory and saw him working... I thought he was going to join but he volunteered to terminate it because he missed three DEP CC's in a row which is an AUTOMATIC disqualification but he knew it and terminated himself. Whatevs.

I'm Trying To Update...

I'm sorry I haven't been able to update on here for a while. Some days, I'm really busy and then there are days where I'm in my room, in my bed, hibernating. So, I apologize. And I'm going to update little by little so it's going to be all over the place... I was originally going to update with EVERYTHING put out there but I realized that will never happen because it's too much. So I'll spread it out. Haha.

DEP CC and Marching.

I met up with my recruiter and my fellow DEP'rs. We made a love package for her (USAF) husband who's deployed in Afghanistan so we sent him some good stuff. Junk food, shaving cream, packaged Gatorade, and someone gave him an iPod shuffle. UM, OUR LIMIT WAS $10, DUDE! Hahahahaha.

Then we got a briefing about the news in the USAF. In Lackland AFB (where our training is held), there has been a lot of investigation happening because there are MTI's who are harassing or sexual harassing people or something like that. Men and women but more on women so they're kicking out MTI's and discharging them from the military and even those who are under suspicion are being discharged so it's serious stuff. After that, we went outside for a test... We had to do our 'reporting statement' and then we all got together and marched. We have two new kids and one of them is Art. We were commanded to do a "change step" but he did a "change step" and a "about phase" AND THEN HORRIBLY CRASHED INTO PEOPLE. It was like a bowling ball crashing into the pins. IT WAS HILARIOUS! XD

After that, we were all briefed on what we're going to do for the next two DEP CC's. So, August 4th is Ultimate Frisbee (I'll bring my own this time) and September 1st, we're running UP Mount Rubidoux (Roo-bee-dough) sigh. Maybe... If I pretend to pass out... Some hunky DEP'r can carry me? HMMMMMM.

Then we were all dismissed. I was going to talk to Sgt. Fears about my right knee but I'll just ask her on Wednesday when I see her.

I'm not sure if I told you about my knee...

Well, I've been feeling this weird discomfort in my right knee. When I do a squat (like I'm going to do a duck walk), I don't feel it but it's when I do a pivot to my right side and put my weight on my right side, then I'll feel it and sometimes, it'll hurt. I don't know if it's something that I have to address or let it go but I feel like I should just to figure out what's wrong. I've asked some of my guy friends who are all into physical body and whatnot and they say that it's either I used my right side too much, or I've strained it or over-used it or I didn't stretch out enough. :(

So, yeah. Meh.

OHAI, GORGEOUS.

Dilon. Another DEP'r on my squad. Ran with me and motivated me. Gorgeous. He said, "I'm not going to leave you behind!"

PS: Thank you for running with me without your shirt on. I love you.

Sincerely,
Otter

060112: Glenn and I went to the beach with the San Bernadino ward to the Balboa Pier beach. Well, okay. Not the whole ward but some of them. A lot of people were going to join but they ditched. Even though we had a small group, it was fun because of all the laughs we had. The whether was a little disappointing though because it was cold, gloomy and windy. It was a horrible day to go to the beach but where we live (Riverside) it was hawt as Hell over there! Sigh. But after, we decided to go to one of the girls' boyfriend's house to grill, make s'mores and swim in his pool. But we didn't stay long because it was already 11pm and I had stuff to do in the morning.

060212: So today was the busiest time EVER for me. And I'm not sure why I didn't think about how I scheduled this day. I had a DEP CC but I also remembered that my church had a triathlon called "Tin Man" not only was I volunteering, but I also signed up to participate. PAR-TI-CI-PATE. WTF. WAS I CRAZY?! So, I woke up at 5:30am but I got out of bed at 6am, got ready and went to catch the 6:20am bus. Then I got to RCC (Riverside City College) by 7am, helped out with the swimmers (since that's the first stage of the triathlon) and then I left early because I had to catch the bus to go to my DEP CC.

08/09 USAF BMT. Sigh.

I called my recruiter yesterday morning to talk to her about the situation and she told me that there wasn't anything she can do because no one wanted to swap jobs with me and there were no spots for me for the jobs that I could get because they were all filled. I asked if there was a spot for July and she told me that July is filled and has been filled by people from two~three months ago so she believes that I might get something for August, latest is September.

March ARB Air Show Swear-In

I went to a YSA Kickoff Party in Rancho Cucamonga. I went with my friend Glenn and we got to hang out with other church members and meet new people (since there was a blood drive for Red Cross) and we got to eat some fresh burgers and hotdogs (knowing me, I got both) and some delicious watermelon!

Later, around 12:15pm, Glenn and I headed out to go to March ARB for my little swear-in (I've already sworn-in back in February) Our recruiter wanted us to do it at the Air Show to get that experience. So we had to practice marching and getting everything down before we officially do it with the Thunderbird's (amazing pilots in the USAF) and in front of 10,000 people.

It was amazing because I got to hear everyone applaud while we were about to do our thing and while we were standing in front of everyone, doing the Oath of Enlistment, F-15's and other aircraft's were flying above our heads and I just felt goosebumps, my heart was racing, it was my motivation... And I knew this is what I wanted to do.

DEP PT!

I stopped asking for rides from my neighbor because he was acting hella weird and he was having a bitch fit with me when I didn't even start shit. So now, I had to take the bus. And even though I've rode the bus before... It was just weird to ride it by myself because I usually go with someone else.

But, I'm kind of tired of asking for rides so I rode the bus, I woke up at 6:45am to be able to catch the bus at 7:15am. And then I forgot I left the direction and route at home and so I had to go back for it, so I sprinted all the way back home and back just to be able to catch the bus.

I had to take the 10-bus, then transfer to the 1-bus but since my bus card was invalid and I had only $20 bills in my pocket, I had to sprint to the nearest donut shop or a liquor store to get change for my money. And then sprint back to the bus stop just so I don't miss it but even with all that sprinting, I should have just counted that as my PT... But, I was still 30-minutes late for my PT.

I hate when I'm late.

But I was 30 minutes late but my recruiter was okay with it. She allowed me to do it since I've always been 30-minutes earlier before we actually have to meet (military time) and I never missed a date since I signed onto the DEP group. So, she let it slide. And then I managed to jump in with the guys. We had to run 10 laps, every 2 laps, we do a core work out, whether it be push-ups, sit-ups, burpees, jumping jacks, mountain climbs etc etc. And after my 6th lap, I was like, "Wait... Guys... I... I can't... Wait for me..."

But I survived and since I was late (so were two other guys) I had to do an extra 40-push ups.

And then I had to go back to the bus stop on the other side, wait 45-minutes for it to come and spent another one hour and 30 minutes on the bus. Sigh.

Good times.

I have five more weeks left. SIGH.

Nervous,
Otter

DEP PT and Bus Transit.

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry I haven't been updating this, I know I should though! I've just been really busy lately.

Today (05/09/12) I had DEP PT but since I'm no longer getting rides from my neighbor, I had to take the bus and I arrived at the office 30 minutes late but I managed to get with the guys and start my PT. We had to do 10 laps, and after every 2 laps, we do a core work out. 40 jumping jacks, 40 bicycle crunches, 40 push ups, 10 burpees, etc etc. So, it was kind of intense but at least I wasn't too far behind with the guys. But since I came late, I had to do an extra 40 push ups. But it was good seeing everyone again. Haha.

I spent three hours on the bus just to commute... Sigh.

Oh well. BRB. :)

Love,
Otter

Cute guys, PT and Movies.

OHMYGAWD, TURTLE! IF YOU MOVE TO THE STATES, YOU HAVE TO TELL ME ASAP! BECAUSE THEN I'LL GET THE NEXT FLIGHT TO COME SEE YOU! If I get stationed in New York, you can come and stay with me and we can watch musicals together! And there is a lot of good places that I know in New York that we can do to! AND MAYBE WHEN I HAVE THE TIME, WE CAN DO A ROADTRIP! THERE'S A LOT OF COOL STUFF HERE IN THE UNITED STATES! sa;ljfdjfkdlsjksjdkfj;sdkfds, I feel like a kid in a theme park! BUT YOU MUST TELL ME. And I can visit you during the holidays (if that's okay with your parents) lol. skdjflksdjfjsdlskd, SO COOL! I'm so stoked even though nothing happened yet! LOL!

---------------------------------------------------------------

Anyways, I just got back from PT. FREAKIN' SUCKS TODAY. I woke up at 7am and I found out that it's raining like crazy and the wind is just an abomination. So I texted Ssgt. Fears and asked if we still had PT. And she said, "Yes." Like, not even a 'yes' with a smiley. It's a straight up, in your face, with a period, 'yes'. So I go to the office and I find out that it's her replacement. Some girl who got back from her training and Tech School and is now doing her RAP (recruiters assistant program) duty. Sigh.

However, I woke up at 7:20am and I was out of the house, in the car and on my way at 7:30am. I didn't eat anything and I just drank two gulps of water. And then we did our push ups, sit ups and warm ups outside while it was drizzling (it slowed down by the time I reached the office) and then we had to run a mile and a half, but this time, we were timed! And since I wasn't feeling well because I had this stomach ache since yesterday, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to do well but I pressed on! I ran and my time was 18 minutes for a mile and a half. WHICH IS BALLS. I usually can make it in time for the run~ I think I'm starting to become a softy. Sigh, sigh. I need to work on that. I am happy that I can meet the core-strength requirements. It's my running time because I don't want to be recycled in BMT! The last thing you want is to be recycled (pushed back) and stay in basic even longer...

After we were done, we left. And I saw "Chase"...

OH, OH! WHEN WE WERE RUNNING, he was basically on his way back when I wasn't even done with the whole thing, and he said to me, "Are you okay? (smile) You doing alright? (smile)" STOP SHOWING ME YOUR GORGEOUS TEETH, GAWD DANG IT! But I was like, "YEAH, (giggle) I'M FINE! (smile)" (hnnnnng~~~) I bet I looked all awkward. -_- lol.

So when we were done, we were all went to our cars and left. When I was in the car, I felt dizzy and nauseous. I felt like I was going to throw up in the car but I didn't. (thank goodness) but I got home, went to the bathroom, felt better and I checked online that my dizziness and nausea after running/PT is usually because I didn't eat a pre-snack work out and enough water so my body was lacking oxygen. POO. So I ate a snack after and then I'm going to have a PB&J sandwich after I make this blog.

And at 3pm, I have a movie "date" with Elder Preator and Elder Kirk. Mmmm~ Apparently, we're going to watch a Mormon film. Um, I think it's about Joseph Smith. And I have a surprise for them! I'm going to bring some frosted animal cookies and chocolate milk for them. Teehee. Is my affection for the Elders a little too obvious? LOL.

Today can't get any better than a day filled with good-looking men in PT uniforms and suits.

I love today,
Otter

The Cute Red-Head.

I know I seem like a stalker right now but I'm now on the official DEP-Riverside Facebook page. So I get to see everyone that's on my squadron and all the ones that USE to be on our squadron (but already left and graduated BMT)

*Ahem* I can't be rude... Let me introduce to you, Dillon Bunch. The cute red-head that's leaving for BMT in May. He has about four weeks left until he leaves. Apparently, he's not going to be a PJ (Pararescue/Jumper... Not pajamas) but he's going in as SERE. Which is like, army-scout-wilderness-training sort of thing.

ISN'T HE CUTE?!

Anyways... I'm still waiting for the other people to be added on the page. Jonathan is in charge of added the people but when he tried adding them, they all had their display pictures as other things so he wasn't sure if it was them or not. So, yeah. I still have Scott and that Lammers-guy-who-I-think-is-Chase.

Teehee,

DEP Commanders Call.

Today for a DEP Commanders Call, we were suppose to do a car wash but the plan got dropped last minute so that sucked because for the DEP CC, we ended up learning element formations, marching, marching commands and ques.

FOR THREE HOURS. UNDER THE SUN. IN 87 DEGREE WEATHER. NO WIND.

But no worries, it was cool. Why? Because three gorgeous looking guys in my squadron showed up and were near me, sweating like men AND THEY STILL SMELT GOOD. So there's this guy named Scott L. Probably the most gorgeous looking guy I've seen in a while, nice build, straight and perfectly white teeth and beautiful eyes and not to mention a nice as- butt. (Yummmm) and Chase? (I think that's his name, I would have to check again) and this other guy... I don't know the other guy's name but he's a red-head (very, very cute and if you knew me, you'd know I have this thing for red heads) and he's going to be a PJ. (double yum and you could tell he's ready for it because he has the damn body for it)

And the good thing about it is when you do your formation, you have to be arm-wide apart and you have to make sure that the end of your fingers touch each other's arms and since I had Scott next to me... Of course, I'd like to place my fingers over your muscular arms. Don't mind if I doooooo~ (Hngggggg~)

Uhg! Gorgeous. And this is why I'm early because I get to see them and it gives us the chance to talk. I know I most likely don't have a shot because chances are, they are already taken. But it doesn't hurt to mingle with some good eye-candy. And this is why I attend PT. So I can see them run. And in my mind, it's in slow motion. Like Baywatch, but with Air Force deliciousness. :)

Now I must rest under the shade and apply soothing lotion because I think I burnt my nose. :(

DEP CC: Hiking "C" Mountain.

So finally, I'm online. I haven't been online since Thursday! Sad face.

Anyways!

March 03, 2012: I had a DEP Commanders Call (CC) and we had a hiking trip. I was pretty excited about it because I haven't hiked in so long so I was stoked. So we meet up at University Village (which is like, 15 minute walk away from my house) and I meet up with the early ones and I get there at 8:30am. We had to wait for everyone else to come and show up... And all the late ones had to sing "I'm A Little Teapot", with the dance moves AND do it enthusiastically. Some of them were sore losers about it but honestly, that's not even close to what you'll get in basic training because they will make you do things that are beyond embarrassing. So, be prepared.

First DEP Meeting.

My first DEP meeting was on Saturday and it was scheduled at 9am.

Me: Are you free to drive me at 9am to a DEP meeting?
German: I can't. My license expired~ I have to renew it on Monday. Unless I drive like an illegal Mexican immigrant.
Me: Hmmmm... Would you like to be an illegal Mexican immigrant for a day?

So sadly, my neighbor couldn't drive me because his license expired.

So I called my recruiter and told her if I could reschedule (obviously not) and that my ride bailed (kinda) and so she called one of the DEP-pers to come pick me up. His name is Scott. Who drives a red Jeep. And inside smells like gym socks and sweat and dog. However, since I grew up around guys, that doesn't phase me. Although it did have some umph to it. (Gross)

I found out that Scott has been on DEP for two months now and I'm barely two days in but we arrive at the recruiters office and guess what I found out?

Everyone inside the office (and I mean the people that showed up for the DEP call) ARE ALL GUYS. Not a single girl (other than myself) is in there. I AM THE ONLY GIRL. Sadly, there aren't any cute guys. Except one black guy but he's short. But I guess that will be my eye-candy for the moment.

And surprise, surprise~ We had a test! Obviously I didn't get the packet because I'm two days in and Ssgt. Fears didn't send me the packet via email but I had to take the test anyways. And I failed miserably. 14 questions wrong out of 20. YEAH, FAILS.

But surprisingly, I wasn't the one that did the worst! HAHA. Some were two points more than I was and more. And we're told for every question that you get wrong equals to five push-ups! Since I got 14 wrong, I had to do 70. (No biggie, I can do it.) so everyone had to line up in front of the office, and do push ups. Sigh. Lol.

THE BEST PART is the last three who did the absolute worst had to go to the Marines Corps office, stand in a line and sing to "I'm A Barbie Girl" with some dance moves of their own. LMAO! I love it. I was hoping that the majority of the votes would go to "Big Girls Don't Cry" but I guess Barbies seem more appealing and we had to really embarrass them for the Marines.

NOW I NEED TO STUDY and amp up the work outs. Since I'm working with mostly guys, I don't want to look like a pansy. -_- but I am excited for March 3's hiking trip! :)

Trying to un-pansy myself,
Otter

CAME BACK FROM MEPS!

Wednesday (2/1/2012):

I went to the recruiters office before 11am and I signed more papers, checked if there was any errors or anything misspelled on my papers. Then while she was going to quadruple check my papers, I went into the video room and had to watch three CD's about the USAF. (I basically knew what it was going to be about but I sat through it) and as I watched the videos about MEPS, swearing in, BMT and everything else... I was super excited! And then I had to be pulled out because it was taking too long and my ride (Mr. Medina) was at the office ready to pick me up with another recruit, Jonathan. (He's SO cute, but he's 17. I'M A TOTAL PEDOBEAR!) and then we started to talk about the process that will happen tomorrow, what to remember when we're at the hotel and stuff like that. But since we were hungry, we stopped by Burger King.

Recruiting Nanny.

Even though I may not have gotten job calls yet... I was offered a chance to be a - wait for it - a nanny. ROFL! As much as I like kids, I hate most of them. However, it'll be only my cousin but the reason why I'm taking it is because I will be paid by the government. SICK. So, my aunt is signing me up and they'll do a background check on me. If I do get the job and judging from my aunts time schedule, I can actually earn $1000 a month. YES.

However, I still have to have a plan b. That's why I started to think about learning how to take the bus by myself... I need to learn how to take the bus to Downtown so I can go around and apply for jobs so that I don't have to wait for my aunt to be on her day-off to take me out, you know? So, yeah.

Also, yesterday. I went to Tukwila (a neighboring town) and I went to the Air Force Recruiting office but they were closed and the sign said that they were out on recruiting events. So, I called the number on the sign to "Ssgt. Smith" and I asked if I could make an appointment because I have some things to discuss but since he wasn't there and I'm not sure if I could go on Monday we just talked on the phone. I told him that I'm a DEPPER, currently under a recruiter in Guam but I've been trying to contact my recruiter through email, phone and even leaving voice mails for him to call me back but he hasn't been contacting me back or replying to me FOR A FEW MONTHS. And when Ssgt. Smith heard "a few months", he was like, "A. FEWWWW. MONTHS?!?!?!?!?!?!" and I was like, "Yes. And that's why I want to transfer to a new recruiting office or new recruiter." and he told me that he couldn't really do much for me because I can still live in Washington and still be under the recruiter in Guam and if I really wanted to be under a new recruiter, he said that I have to ask my current recruiter to sign the courtesy ship? I forgot what it was called but he said, "But promise me, that the whole of next week, you will keep calling your recruiter and trying to get a hold of him. If one week passes and you still don't get a word, stop by my office and come see me. So I can have my team help you out. And I will talk to my boss about dealing with the recruiters in Guam for showing poor customers service. But promise me, you will try your hardest to contact him." and I said, "I promise. I will."

And he added, "If you'd like, even if you're under your recruiter in Guam, you can still attend my DEP program. It's once a month on the third of every Saturday. But if you don't like working out then that would be a problem because I work out with my boys. But you are more than welcome to come by... It's just, I want to prepare everyone for boot camp. That's our job... So, just think about it." And I just told him that I'll try.

OHMYGOD, DEPPER BOYS. *drools* Just kidding. But I'll think about it because I have to see how I can get there. However, I will try and contact my recruiter because he's being an ass and not even contacting me. Makes me upset.

We also went to the Southcenter Mall... I forgot to stop by Finish Line to see if Matt still works there. LOLOLOLOL.

A Nanny-To-Be,
Otter
