Guess what? I have two more days until the hotel and three more days until I fly to Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas.
lksdjfkliowejaklsdf,mv,.xcngaroisdklfjsd!!!!!!! D;
I can't believe it's happening. I'm buying the rest of my stuff that I need to bring with me and I'm packing up everything, boxing it into a Balikbayan box and sending it back to my parents. I'm going to have such an empty room now and most of my clothes are gone! 95% of my stuff will be in a box and the rest of the 5% are coming with me. Hahaha.
On Sunday at like 10am, I'm going to Brother Merill's house for a Patriarchal blessing (which I have to be in church clothes so that may be stuffed in a ziplock bag and tucked into my BMT bag) and I'll change and such, then somewhat rush to the recruiter's office and get on that shuttle bus that will take us to the hotel. And then we settle in, maybe eat dinner with our dinner ticket, then sleep in HELLA early and then on the 29th, we wake up at about 4am, get ready, fall in line for breakfast (with our breakfast ticket) and then after, we rush to go to the shuttle bus that will take us to the MEPS and then we do a short rundown of the medical process again but it'll be quick (however, I'll have to do the 'heel walk', ugh. I got it right the first time! klsdfdjfklsd) and then if I pass that damn heel walk, then we all go into a room where we swear-in again BUT OFFICIALLY and then we head to the shuttle bus which will take us to the airport and who knows what time we're going to get there but we'll have to wait for MTI's and the bus that will take us to Lackland, once we get there, ALL HELL WILL BREAK LOOSE AND SHALL BEGIN.
On Wednesday, (Oct. 24th, 2012) was the last time I saw Mrs. Davis. She was going to head to work but she wasn't going to come back home because she's flying to Utah to see her parents, sister and brother and they're going to also fly out with Sacramento as well so, yeah. Wednesday was her last day and she came into my room when I just woke up at 7:30am (mind you, I was in my bed without a shirt on. I mean, I had a bra on but... I was shirtless) and she came in, gave me a hug and said, "This is the last time I'm going to see you but I want you to stay safe, work hard and know that I love you." and that would have made me bust out in tears but, yeah. I stayed strong and I told her that I loved her as well and that I am thankful to be able to be in this house for the time that I was given and I promised her that I'd call her when we get to the hotel and when I'm about to leave.
Yesterday (Thursday; Oct. 25th, 2012) I went to Institute for the last time, and I was hanging out with everyone. But I also take Institute classes so after our New Testament class, I was going to go to the bathroom and then all of a sudden, Rachel comes back in and she blocks the door and I look at her and I ask what she's doing because she's just standing there. And the first thing she says is, "We're having a tornado drill." and I'm like, "What?" and I don't know WHY but I comply and sit back down in my seat. HAHAHAHAHAHA, and it was weird because I really wanted to go to the bathroom. And then a few seconds later, Sister Gifford comes in with a cake made from a bunch of other cupcakes! I got to see people come and go, and we said our "goodbyes" and I was going to go eat Korean BBQ with Joe, Salapu and Glenn and as I was walking out of the Institute building (which would be my last time), I hear Sister Gifford say, "Noooooo, Otter! Stay a little longer!" and she comes running out, giving me a hug and I can tell she was going to cry... Sigh. It was a bit heartbreaking because I'm going to miss her and everyone else. I'm going to miss her cooking class every Wednesday and I'm going to miss the Institute classes. It sucks that I have to leave NOW right when we have awesome classes that weren't offered last semester but it's alright.
Then I went to volleyball and I played table tennis and basketball. It kind of irked me that they finally pull down the basketball hoops THE DAY I LEAVE. They don't pull it down any other time so I only got five minutes to play basketball. SO FREAKING LAME. But I was able to hang out with other people before anything...
It was really bittersweet.
As much as I want to stay here and whatnot, I really have to go because there's nothing for me here. I really am going to miss everyone here but I got to go because I get to go back to school, work and be paid to work out, work and go to school basically. I mean, I'll definitely come back and visit and I'm even going to visit home (in the Philippines) the first chance that I get.
Right now, I'm waiting for Joe and Glenn so we can have breakfast and then around 3pm-ish, I'm going to go see some of my girl-friends from Institute that really want to hang out with me and we're just going to go to Starbucks, window-shop at the Tyler mall and such. Haha. OH, and buy a sock bun. Or two.
And then on Saturday, Joe, Glenn and I are going to Los Angeles for more Korean BBQ and do some other stuff.
Sunday, I'm going to bring Andi, Joe and Glenn to do my Patriarchal blessing so yeah. Cools.
klsdjfweoiaukslfkjsakjflsdjfslfksdjfkld! It's really happening! (finally)
PS: Turtle, I'm going to really miss you and I'm going to have really long urges to want to go online and read this blog to know how you're doing and such. But just remember, it's only eight and a half weeks. I will be back by Christmas time. I'm sure that if I graduate, you'll be proud of me. :) I love you, Turtle!
Sincerely,
Trainee Otter
