Ottercracks At Night

The weirdest thing happened yesterday. While watching tv last night, I heard a "tick" sound and I felt it on my glasses. I thought maybe some tiny bug crash landed on my glasses but... The bottom part of my frame cracked! Like, what the hell? How does a frame crack on your face? I didn't put pressure and I wasn't bending it or whatever. It just... Cracked. It was weird! Now, I have this awkward space at the bottom... I don't know if it's because my glasses were cheap to begin with or my face is getting fatter while watching tv.

Not-sure-what-to-do,
Otter

Gifts with Brother Otter

- Shopping for Brother Otter's girlfriend -
Brother Otter: I think she'll like the two Coach bags and Chanel bag...
Otter: I think she will.
Brother Otter: She better. I don't care if she doesn't like these two Coach wallets, she can give them away but she has to like the bags. It's meant for her.
Otter: (Thinks: Awwwwwwwwwww) Yeah...
- Shops more in native gifts -
Otter: OH! Look! Those Baguio-handmade gifts!
Brother Otter: Aw man! Yeah~ Let's get her this! (A Penis-keychain)
Otter: Ew. Why? She'd be like, "Wtf?"
Brother Otter: Yeah, but... It's funny, she'll put it with her car keys and look stupid. (laughs)
Otter: (laughs) A penis that says "Baguio City"?
Brother Otter: Yeah, and I have to check if it's all spelled right. I'll get three; one for her and her two sisters. One is actually pregnant so I think this will be a nice gift for her.
- Pays for our keychains; goes next to the store next door -
Brother Otter and I: (walks around)
Brother Otter: Miss, how much is this? (points at a 'longer' penis keychain) Why is it more expensive compared to the one next door?
Lady: Because you can get whatever you want to write on it.
Brother Otter and I: (laughs)
Otter: Anything?! Uh-oh!
Brother Otter: Write your name and phone number.
Otter: (laughs) Or, "Always and forever"
Brother Otter: You + Me = Love. OH, but if I got it for my girlfriend, it would say, "You + Me = Zach" (son)
Otter: (laughs) Very sweet, almost romantic.

Farmers Tan and Otter

During my stay in Baguio, going to La Union to visit the beaches that Brother Otter and I use to go to... I realized that being under the sun was a horrible idea because just walking to the beaches, gave me the most horrible farmers tan you can imagine. First off, my skin whiter than cooked rice and sometimes comes off as pasty or the color of white glue. Since I wore I shirt to begin with, only my forearms were exposed! So now, my whooooole body is still rice-white... But only my forearms are dark like tree bark! Sigh. I guess this means that I have to hibernate away from the sun for a few months now.

Cookies with Brother Otter

- Buying peanut brittle and other goodies -
Brother Otter: Hey babe, I'm going to take some Lengua De Gato home for you guys.
Girlfriend: What?! Ewww, gross! You guys eat cat tongue?!
Brother Otter: What? No! Their thin biscuits!
Girlfriend: Ooooh, good. Sooo... Do you guys have Spanish bread?
Brother Otter: What the hell is Spanish bread?

ROFL! I love them both. :)

Pranks with Brother Otter

- In the living room -
Brother Otter: Can you get me the toothpaste in the bathroom?
Otter: Why? You can get it yourself.
Brother Otter: No, you go get it.
Otter: You have to brush your teeth in the bathroom anyway...
Brother Otter: I know. But I want you to go get it for me.
Otter: Fiiiine.
- Goes to the bathroom -
Otter: (screams) THERE'S A COCKROACH ON THE TOOTHPASTE!
Brother Otter: (giggles and comes to the bathroom to close the door)
Otter: (frozen solid, scared and staring down the cockroach) BROTHER OTTER!!!
Brother Otter: (opens door, runs away and laughs)
Otter: (runs back to the living room)

July 1, 2011: Public Smoking Ban

Finally! On July 1st, the new rule "No smoking in public" will be effective! Ohmygod, thank goodness someone finally made this! It's like everyone tries to smoke as much as they can. Schools, public buildings, restaurants, hospitals, gasoline stations and it's everywhere! Every time I walk around and I have to pass a group of smokers, I have to always cover my nose and mouth and that's the reason why I try to stay away from people who do smoke. Also, I try not to have friends that do because I don't want to cover half of my face just to talk.

Now, they're going to take it to another level. No smoking at hospitals, schools, restaurants, public buildings... Basically, no smoking in public. Which is good! It's like Singapore! Except, in Singapore, they fine you $200 but I'm not sure about the Philippines... Also, my other worries is having the MMDA deal with it and we all know they are easy to bribe especially when they need lunch money, you know what I mean? So, hopefully, this all works out well because I've seen parents walk their kids, holding their hand and the other hand is holding a cigarette and there have been multiple times where I have to pass by a group of crowded people and they still smoke and I get myself burned. I also hope that the children realize that this is a good thing because there are as young as nine-years-olds that smoke. It's a sad sight... I hope the Philippines takes this seriously.

Forever Smoke Free,
Otter

Pumpin'.

After my classes last Friday, my mom said that our grandfather (mom's side) had a cardiac arrest and isn't looking too good. The doctors said that there's a huge chance that his condition would deteriorate so we all rushed to the province. After a 4-hour roadtrip, we went straight to the hospital.

I wasn't really close to my grandfather, but seeing him suffer was enough to make me burst into tears. He had already suffered from stroke a few times, which rendered the lower half of his body paralyzed, and his speech was completely slurred. My grandfather was more of a looming presence in my life, nevertheless his presence was comforting enough.

Last year, my friend's grandfather had passed away. Just more than a week ago, my classmate's grandfather passed away after a long, tedious battle against liver cancer. So, I was just thinking... should my generation's timeline expect their grandparents to start counting their days here on earth??

Until now, air has to be manually pumped to my grandfather's lungs. MANUALLY. My sibs and I took turns pumping the damned apparatus until our hands hurt and we were all dizzy from lack of sleep. I couldn't understand why they couldn't just bring the breathing apparatus/machine to his room. The hospital said if we were going to use a machine, bring him to the ICU. Moving him to the ICU would mean doubled expenses and only one visitor at a time could go inside, which was pretty inconvenient since people usually visit my grandfather by herds.

My grandfather grew fairly stronger after two days. Yesterday, I went back to Manila coz I still had school the next day.

On the lighter side, I found this link on my friend's FB, a humorous satire about the RH Bill. I LOL'd so hard!!   CLICK HERE to read.

Grandma and Freeloaders

Sigh, my grandmother. Not my mother's mom but my father's mom. She's sick. She's battling yet another pneumonia infection... It's been five ~ six days now and Brother Otter usually says that it lasts a week before senior's die from it. So, I'm a bit afraid.

Here's the thing with my grandmother... In the late-80's, she had her first stroke which left her paralyzed on the left side from the shoulder and below so she walks with a cane and a limp but it doesn't stop her from anything. She travels, cooks, shops, cleans, showers and even took care of an adopted child from the moment she was an infant all by herself with no help of a stay-at-home nurse or maid.

In 2005 or 2006, she had her second stroke in our house in Fort Bonifacio and we rushed her to the hospital and even though she was all better, she was so tired and my father and his sisters thought it was a better idea that she come back to Los Angeles and see a doctor and stay at a senior home (because they "don't have room at their house") so the next week, she flew back to Los Angeles. Since then, I haven't seen her. When I stayed in Canada for six months in 2008, I got a message from a cousin who told me that she had her third stroke. THIRD. She was a little deranged and forgot some things but she was still living on her own. Then, she had her first pneumonia infection that ended up her being rushed to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) but she ended up doing well and living well. Now, she's on her second pneumonia infection and people are thinking that this is it. Sometimes, it makes me think that it's not because she's been so strong already however, I know that she's struggling so much just to live that it's just too much for her... As much as I hate to say it, I think she deserves to rest. She's such a great grandmother who tries to be the best mother that she can be, who works hard even if half of her is paralyzed. I was always her favorite and she hated everyone else, she cared for my mom more than she cared for her own daughters and sons because she and I really understood her, took care of her and let her into our house even though we didn't have space. I lent her my room for months while I slept in the living room, on a couch and I was still in high school. For what she did for me (and my mother), sleeping on the couch was not enough to thank her, I guess you can say.

Happy birthday, Zach!

Today is my lovely nephews 3rd birthday! He is the cutest, curly haired little pickle ever! Brother Otter and I were Skyping and I got to see Zach, talk to him and he greeted me a belated birthday. Also, he said to my mother and I, "Hey ladies~ I'm three!" AWWWWW, SO SWEET! I wonder how he'll be like at 18. (laughs) Oh wait, no. Let's take each day one at a time... I want him to stay young for a while.

Brother, Shots and Oldness

May 26th: The last day for Brother Otter before he leaves to go back to Canada with our grandma. I know that he's been missing his girlfriend and his son. I was a little worried for her because she was taking care of hyper Zach all by herself but she's such a good mom and was able to do it herself. Next time he comes back, he'll take her and Zach like the original plan so hopefully, the next time they do come, it'll be better and a longer vacation. I ate everything I usually don't eat all because of Brother Otter. Do I eat Jollibee? No, but I did it for Brother Otter. Do I eat rice, eggs, hotdogs, fried salted fish and corn beef for breakfast? No, but I did it so I can have breakfast with Brother Otter. There were so many things that I usually don't eat but I did it so I can spend every second with him. He hasn't been to the Philippines in twelve years and hasn't seen me for almost three years so we had to make these 15 days worth it... Aunts and uncles were asking me what I wanted and I told them that I didn't want anything and in the whole box of things that they brought home, there were only things for Ethan. Almost EVERYTHING was for Ethan. None for mother, nothing for me... And we are the ones taking care of Ethan. Like, what the hell is that? They apologized that they didn't get anything for us but we all know... They aren't. I didn't want anything, I just wanted Brother Otter to come home. Now that he left, I feel bored. There's no one extra in the car, in the house or anywhere. There's no one throwing pillows and folded blankets at me when I'm waking up, there's no one who's going to eat lunch with me, there's no one next to me who'll translate something on tv for me, there's no one who's going to download movies and watch it with me, and there's no one who's going to hog the shower for 15 minutes... And there's no one who's going to tell me weird stories. Sigh. He needs to come back now. Sad face.

Shopping With Brother Otter

Brother Otter needed new clothes that would add color into his closet and as a loving sister as I am... I decided to help pick out some shirts for him.

- Digging through piles of shirts -
Brother Otter: Oooo... Here's one.
Otter: That one's nice.
- more looking, more picking -
Otter: How about this one?
Brother Otter: ... Sure. I'll try it on. Okay, I have like six shirts.
Otter: The fitting room is right there.
- Goes in the fitting room; five minutes later -
Brother Otter: Okay. I have a yes-pile and a no-pile.
Otter: Which one is the yes-pile?
Brother Otter: All the shirts except the one you picked for me, this blue one.
Otter: (sad face) It's turquoise...
Brother Otter: (whacks me with the shirt) The color doesn't fit my skin tone.

He had a dark blue shirt. Whatever. Most of the shirts he bought were yellow. LOL. So much for "color" in his closet.

Movies with Brother Otter

While we were in Baguio, we were able to watch the "Fast Five" movie with Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. My two main men~ And when we arrived back to Manila, we were able to watch "The Pirates of the Caribbean". We're renting out a unit in Excelsior for about four~five days and we decided to watch some movies on his laptop and looking through all the videos that he had... I chose "Tangled", why? Because I haven't seen it. Why does he have it on his laptop? Because Zach watches it. Haha, he called Disney movies "Disney Blu-Ray" or "Disney Blu-Ray Combo Pack" LOL. So, yes. I finally watched "Tangled". I teared when the king was losing hope that he would find their daughter ever again. Sigh. But it was a pretty good movie...

Eat Bulaga and Brother Otter

Ohmygod, seriously. I don't know what he was thinking... In the first place, mother and I don't even watch it on TV so actually getting seats and even going on set was just out of your mind! And the worst thing that happened was being placed near the stage, in the center of the whole location, where everyone can see you on TV. It was slightly embarrassing but Brother Otter said that he wanted to do it "for kicks" and he was taking pictures during the whole thing. They even gave us a LED flashlight and whistle if ever there's an earthquake. LOL.

Before starting the whole show, two gay comedians were coming up and telling us to clap, cheer and be lively and they were also making us "rehearse" some dance thing-y. Uhm, I think it's called a "Shembot"? Like, what the eff? Uhg. What else? OH, during the commercial breaks, they would come out and talk, remind us to cheer and whatnot. All this time, I thought that people were just naturally excited to be on the show, to see certain artists and whatnot but it's all rigged so I was a little disappointed.

They passed around thunder clappers and I think that was the most exciting thing yet. So, during the game "Pinoy Henyo", there were students from certain schools that had to play a word game where you guess the word through "yes" and "no" and sometimes, it got so intense, I got into it. So, I'm screaming, hollering and banging my thunder clappers and I would often glance up at the TV to see how it looks like to the viewers watching and I would see myself with Brother Otter acting like some wild freak during the early noon! He laughed so hard at me... (laughs)

Near the end when there was another commercial, the two gay comedians were going around talking and were looking at the audience for "cute/handsome guys" and they seemed like they were scouting for them... And then after three other guys, they were looking at Brother Otter! (LOL-ING) It's the girl that plays "Michelle O'Bomshell".

MOb: Oh look~ This one's handsome! (points at Brother Otter)
Gay Comedian: Oh yes, sister~ So so so cuuute.
Brother Otter: (giggled and flattered)
MOb: Where are you from?
Brother Otter: Canada.
Gay Comedian: Ooooh~ Wurr? (where)
MOb: Ooooh~ Where in Canada?
Brother Otter: London.
MOb: Oh yes, there's a London in Canada. How long have you been here in the Philippines?
Brother Otter: A little more than a week.
MOb: Aye! Do you have a wife?
Brother Otter: None...
Gay Comedian: He might be free~
MOb: How about a girlfriend?
Brother Otter: Yes.
MOb: Aye! What a waste... You should be with me!
Gay Comedian: Oh no~ What nationality is she?
MOb: Filipino? American?
Brother Otter: Canadian. Latin-Canadian.
MOb: Aye, aye, aye... You're too taken. (moves on)
Otter: (Laughs)
Mother Otter: Too bad that wasn't actually on TV.

Although it would have been the first choice of mine to do something like that but Brother Otter wanted to do it so I come along. (laughs)

Sharing with Brother Otter

- Brother Otter leaves the bathroom -
Otter: (enters bathroom with a stank face) ...
Brother Otter: (sneaks near the bathroom and giggles)
Otter: Did you...
Brother Otter: What? (smells bathroom) EW, OTTER! YOU FARTED!
Otter: NOOOOO! OHMYGOD, YOU FARTED IN HERE!
Brother Otter: (runs out into the kitchen laughing)

Sadness.

The day after I posted the blog post about Maggie, she just... suddenly passed away. One minute, she was loud and demanding and the next day... gone.

Sooo... I really don't want to go through it in my head. I just miss her.

Mornings with Brother Otter

Otter: (ties hair into a bun on top of her head) Good~morning, Brother Otter. (smiles)
Brother Otter: (pause) ... You look like a shrimp.

Comics and Cats and Pirates

Last May 20, my good friend Wapwap and I attended a comic artist friend's gallery exhibit (opening night) at SM Megamall's Art Asia.

The exhibit features works of a few famous names in the local comic world and a handful of up-and-coming indie comic artists.
Wapwap and I went to the gallery's opening night in support of our friend Omeng, plus the free buffet. One can only come across free buffets in this lifetime.

There is one particular painting that I really, really like.

"Gun" by Toti Cerda. I do like the theme of heroism in this painting, a young boy (probably from the slums), armed with a makeshift cape and wearing grubby Converse sneakers, as he stands on some garbage heap overlooking the metropolis.
Just a little FYI, Toti Cerda was a great comic illustrator in the 90's. Until now, even in his old age.
Toti Cerda tending to his flock of fans. :D

While going around and savoring different themes and techniques of the paintings in the gallery, I noticed this cute, artist-hippie sort of guy taking his sweet time looking at each painting with great intensity. Almost each painting or sculpture, he looks at it with incredible interest and takes a picture of it with his Nokia phone.
Okay, VERY FEW men can pull off the long-hair-with-beret-plus-glasses-artist look. This was an incredibly rare specie, so I just HAD to take his picture.

*******************************************

I plan to name the kitten I found Maggie. After the incredible femme fatale Maggie Q.
Anyway, she'll be 3-weeks old tomorrow. She is thriving, feisty, and likes to sleep on my stomach after a bottle-feed session. She wakes me up earlier than I'd expect, but what can I do? I'm practically her momma.

One tiny and mean, purring machine.
*************************************************************************

Yesterday, I watched the latest sequel of Pirates of The Carribean. I won't spoil the movie. I do want to show this picture of a little girl who enthusiastically had her picture taken with one of the props outside the theater. Apparently,a pirate look involves a wacky face. OMG ADORBS.

Tomorrow is already the first day of school and my workshops aren't even finished yet!!! Oh what to do, what to do.

Feeling the pressure,
Turtle

Fuzz, BC and Drunken Lady

Being with Brother Otter and going to his old elementary and high school seems a little weird because not only does he remember, but I remember some parts of it. What's funny is that he bought an elementary school PE shirt for his son~ *laughs*

We went around Baguio to the places that we use to go to and see what we remember, things have changed and sadly, it's not as green as we remembered but we met up with his neighborhood friends and only one remembers me as the "small chinky eyed girl" and Brother Otter would say that I'm the "clingy one". *laughs* As much as I want to remember them, all I saw was my brother.

Then later, we were suppose to see some of his other friends that we haven't met yet but they all bailed with some emergency... So we called up two others that we've already met and hung out at some bar called "18BC"... Can someone tell me why I'm going to a bar with my brother? Isn't it not suppose to be like that? *laughs*

OH, we also thought about this random thing that we never thought about before. Okay, here it is. The men that sell taho always seem to know how to keep it hot even though they've been walking around for hours; the men that are in charge of the "dirty ice cream" always seem to know how to keep their ice cream cold even though they walk around in the heat; but when we order pizza from Pizza Hut or some other pizzaeria... The pizza always seem to come cold even though we ordered it 30-minutes ago. WEIRD RIGHT? Is it just Brother Otter and I? *laughs*

Grandma Otter doesn't want to go back to Canada. It's too cold for her and she's not too independent but she gets free checkups... But I want her to see her grandson since he's turning three this coming 29th but you know, she doesn't want to leave.

Now that I left Brother Otter with his two friends at the bar (because it might be weird with me around), now they're moving to another one. I don't know what my brother gave me but I feel fuzzy...

And I'm stuck in an internet cafe, filled with flying... Uhm, I don't know what they're called but they look like bees with dragonfly-like wings and not only that, but there's this drunken lady here...

She's speaking English, Tagalog, French and Spanish. She changes it and she seems to be talking to someone online with the headphones. She says the most random things like, "I love Osama Bin Laden. I want to get married in New York, with my family, and bring some prostitutes and balut."; "The Twin Towers are mine."; "I want to murder someone... *screams* I love God. Even though I can't lick him, I love him~"; Then she started to count, do the whole kiddy "close-open" game... And then she started to act a bit slutty, moaning and talking about slutty things in the languages that she knows. *laughs* Slutty Linguist! And then she was saying, "Who's head is broken?" and I said, "Yours... For sure."

Before she left, she was trying to advertise something (maybe something slutty) and then Mother Otter said, "I feel like I'm so close to you now..." and she said, "Yeah, me too." and when she was about to leave, we tell her to have a goodnight, that we'll see her soon and she invited us to whatever advertisement she was trying to post and I told her that I'm surely going to come and we're going to have a great time. I also said, "Goodnight, giiiiiiiirlfriend~" in my sassy-way. Now that she's gone, the internet cafe isn't as fun anymore because she isn't shouting random things. OH, and she's a manager of something at SM and she's Caucasian. LOL, I wonder what she's been drinking and smoking.

Ohmygosh... Now I have a tummy ache. *sobs*

Fuzzyaches,
Otter

Itteh Bitteh Rescued Kitteh

On the morning of my birthday, my sister and I just left the condo and started walking toward the direction of the train station when we saw a little cat that looked like it just died on the road. We were like, "oh no, that's too bad. We could've saved it blah blah blah..."

Then we walked a little farther and my sister pointed out a tiny kitten at the canal at the side of the road and exclaimed, "oh look! There's another one!" We thought it was dead.

Then it started meowing.

For some reason, my sister and I started panicking. Well, almost. We couldn't leave it. It was struggling in the muck so we put the kitten on dry pavement. I had my sister run back to the condo and get a towel so we could wrap it and bring it to PAWS.

My brother drove us to PAWS where I spotted Ate Cha. She took one look at my li'l cookie container where the kitten was and she was like, "I don't like what you're holding." She checked the kitten and had me hairdry the little furball and placed under a lamp.

The kitten was tri-colored so, yeah, totally female. She was noisy and kept crawling around, so that's a good sign. Ate Cha fed her with some milk formula. I signed the foster agreement and went home with the kitten.

This is how we found her. :(

And this is her right after I got her cleaned up and fed in a couple of hours! D'aaaaaawwwww.

I don't know how she ended up at the side of the road but thank goodness we found her! She's thriving and pretty demanding. Good signs all the way. I'm gonna bring her back to PAWS for a check-up and see if she's ready for deworming. She's approximately 2 weeks old because her eyes are open and her ear have just started lifting up.

Ate Cha I can feed her three times a day which is what I've been going with. The kitten's just SO cute.

Feeling like a momma cat,
Turtle

Belatedness and Updates

Happy belated birthday, Turtle! However, I did text you the morning of your birthday just so you know! But I also wanted to make it clear on here~ I hope that you had an awesome swim because, well, what turtle doesn't swim? ^^ Also, just so you know, I partied with you in spirit.

Right now, I'm Baguio with my family and we're having a good time. There are so many quotes that I wanted to share but can't seem to remember any of the at the moment. I'll get to it... Brother Otter and I were able to find old places that we use to go to and explore other places here that he hasn't seen in years and I'm trying to get it all on video tape... But I ran out of tape so I need to buy more. (laughs)

I'm in a 24-hour internet cafe and although I can't use this for 24-hours, I must do all of this quickly... I just wanted to let you know that you aren't forgotten and we're just tied up with so much. Soon enough, Turtle will update you with some good stories!

Slightly hungry,
Otter

Skyping with Brother Otter!

- ends previous conversation -
Otter: Uh?! Is... Is that a tattoo on your arm?!
Brother Otter: It's not. It's peklat (scar). *covers it*
Otter: But it's in a shape of a star...?
Brother Otter: Yeah, a star peklat.
Otter: What does the whole thing look like?
Brother Otter: It looks like... (pause) Peklat.
Otter: (LOLing) Mmmkay.

A Real Life Monster.

Can you believe this b****? She put her baby girl in the microwave, cooked her for two minutes all because she suspected that her boyfriend was cheating on her?! Hoooold up, wait a minute... ARE YOU SERIOUS? A real live human baby? In a damn microwave? And you had the mindset to cook her?! And it's been proven that she's not crazy because she confessed and said it to everybody that if it weren't for her boyfriend cheating on her, their baby would still be alive?! What is up with people these days?! I've heard some things on the news a couple of times of people sticking their cats in microwaves, sticking their hamsters in microwaves and other domesticated animals and I thought that was enough to make me think that people were insane these days but to put a real human baby; YOUR OWN BABY in the microwave and she didn't even think twice about it! She's a monster.

Nyuck Nyuck Nyuck.

As an advanced birthday gift, my mom got me a MyPhone, the QV27 Duo model since it was also on sale last May 7. I've been dying to have that phone since it was released and now I finally own one! Mom is teh best! So for the past few days I've been exploring all the settings and features. I will do my best to take care of what was bestowed upon me!

Right now, I just came from band rehearsals with my sister. She and I are doing back-up vocals for this French vocalist. I don't want to give away the identity yet but his songs are currently going around radio stations! It was funny coz we rode a taxi to our rehearsal space. French Guy was fiddling with a couple of stations until he got to 103.5, saying that his bandmates have been hearing his song all day. And boom! His song "Phil So Good" went on! We grooved to it and I'm not sure the taxi driver knew the enormity of having the artist of this song actually riding his cab. LOLOLOL.

************************************************

I just got back in Manila this morning. Came from the province because of family things. Anyway, I was groggy and my blood count was low. I noticed my phone received a message.

I read the text, and it said, "Excited, birthday girl?"

I thought it was one of my friends, particularly Spam, because I invited her to my birthday celebration this coming Sunday. I was about to jokingly reply, "syempre hindeh!!" (of course not!!) Then I noticed the sender wasn't Spam.

It was PANDA.

From there, my neural processes went downhill. My cardiovascular system had to work double time and I'm pretty sure there was a touch of adrenaline coursing through my system for one minute.

WHAT IS AIR.

I couldn't figure out what to say to him and I spent almost 5 minutes thinking what to say. And I was like, "Oh, fudge it." We actually had a continuous text conversation!!! After that, he suddenly stopped replying. I archived his texts coz I have a feeling it will be the first and last random text convo we'll ever had.

Yes. I am sad and pathetic.

********************************************

I want to have my neck cracked again.

Feelin' fly like a G6,
Turtle

Otter and Brother Otter.

On Wednesday, my brother (cousin) will be on his flight from Detroit to New York to Japan and then here! I bet he's going to be so tired but he'll be with us and we're going to go see our grandmother! I'm so excited! He hasn't been here for eleven years! Yup~ He was suppose to come in 2008 but instead, something came up and his girlfriend was even going to give birth early and gave his ticket to me so I can go to Canada to see him, I lived with them for more than half a year.

Otter Rule #1: Animal Safety and Wellbeing

If you know me well enough, you know my actions towards animals are so strong and sometimes, I have more compassion for animals than humans because through the years, humans are giving each other a reason to not have hope in humanity and though that can change in hundreds of years right now, I have tremendous respect for animals and I do what I can to make sure that they are healthy and well and I like to be active in numerous organizations to make sure that keeps going on... Dogs and cats are included as well.

Also, if you know me or my friends, they'll surely tell you that I have a whole family of dogs. Yes, I'm a huge dog-lover. I have six, lovely and healthy dogs (okay, maybe Bruno's a bit sick with spring allergies but he's healthy overall) and there's nothing that I don't do to make sure that they stay that way. I give them organic and healthy kibbles, milk, fresh cold water, toys, veggies and some fruits, and so much more... They are like my own children and I treat all animals like they were my children.

I even have dog and cat kibbles in my car to feed strays that I see around the area. I feed cats at the basement parking of my lobby and even if I'm out and I see a cat who's sitting near a restaurant with no food, I'll give that cat some kibbles. And if I see a dog or a pack of dogs, I'll prepare food for them when I have nothing to really do and I will even provide water since I have some water in my car. I do what I can to give back... Even if we can't have conversations, we look different and even smell different.

Now, the point of my blog...

Popped Necks, Otteraches and Pancakes

I finally got to see Turtle today! After eight months (yes, eight months) of not seeing each other, we finally arranged a small meeting!

I think we talked about dogs the whole time... And we even got to walk her mini poodle~ We went back into the My Talent building (the one connected to a condominium) and we sat there, talking some more, with little kids running around... And then all of a sudden, Turtle turns to me and talks about how her singing instructor (I'm sorry if I got that wrong) is also a physical therapist slash chiropractor? LOL! And then she goes in and asks for her to pop her neck. Correction, she goes in and asks, "Can you crack my neck?" in a nice and loving manner. I use to have problems with my shoulders being too stiff and all sorts of reasons for it being that way so I see a chiropractor once every few months but surprisingly, Turtle decided to ask if she can also crack MY neck! *gulp* It was slightly awkward, not embarrassing... Because I don't ask strangers if they can crack my neck. *laughs* as nice as she is, she did so and I can see in Turtle's eyes the satisfaction of my neck popping... I mean, cracking. Twice.

Even though we didn't get to hang out for very long, we were able to hang out and surely, we'll hang out more often!

After that, I decided to go around... As if I never been around Eastwood. And then, I started to get a tummy ache. But here's the thing; it can mean a lot of things... Ever since I was young, around 5-years-old, I would have a tummy ache for everything.

Mom: Hurry up! Let's go! We're running late!
Otter: ... I have a tummy ache. *owww*

Mom: *drives me to school*
Otter: ... I have a tummy ache. *owww*

Mom: You have to eat all the food that's on your plate.
Otter: But I have a tummy ache...

Otter: ... I have a tummy ache.
Mom: Did you forget to eat again?
Otter: *eats*
(An hour later)
Otter: I have a tummy ache...
Mom: Did you eat too much after not eating properly?

See, there are a lot of reasons. If you rush me, I get a tummy ache. If you drive that's not to my liking, I get a tummy ache. If I don't want to go to school, I get a tummy ache. If I eat too much, I get a tummy ache. If I don't eat and then suddenly eat too much, I get a tummy ache. Even if I'm bored, I'll get a tummy ache... So I wasn't sure about this one. However, I gave it a try and decided to eat at Pho Hoa since Turtle said that she misses me eating there and I haven't eaten there in a while so I ate there. *laughs*

After that, my tummy ache went away~

Now, I'm craving pancakes. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Little Otters and Little Turtles

Today is Children's Day in Japan (こどもの日) and in Korea (어린이날)! HOORAY! It's a day for elders to set aside and respect the children's personalities and to celebrate their happiness, healthiness and their uniqueness. So it's like Christmas for the children... In Japan, the family puts out these carp-flags (koinobori) one representing the father, the mother and the son (or plural)... The girls don't get one. LOL~! That's because "Boy's Day" and "Children's Day" go hand-in-hand but let's not talk about boys. We're talking about children. Hahahaha. I don't know if Korea has certain flags. However, in Korea and Japan, girls and boys get gifts and do what they want to do for the day. It's fun~ So today, let's all celebrate the healthy and unique children of the world!

I don't have children and I still have parents so I'm still considered a child, so... You know what that means! :D

LET'S GO PLAY! I mean... PARTY!

Moved!!

Finally! We got all of our stuff out of Katipunan to our new place at Timog area. The place still needs fixing but at least it's more spacious, the airconditioner is running, and the bunk bed is set-up. The bathroom is smaller compared to our previous space but it's classier.

My problem right now is how to get to our new place once school starts because I have poor sense of direction.

Will blog regularly once Globe decides to connect us with net access. We've called them a million times, they say wait for 24 hours (for the nth time) aaaand... nothing.

I HATE YOU GLOBE.

If they won't put our internet access on by next week, we're switching services.

Spatially challenged,

Osama Bin Laden: DEAD

Otter: Osama Bin Laden's dead...
Mom: Yeah, I heard. How?
Otter: I don't know, he probably died of old age or some sickness.
Mom: Yeah, he has been battling some kidney thing.
Otter: See, it's sad that he died of a sickness and not our fighting.
Mom: Did they say how he died already?
Otter: No, they just said they found his body somewhere...
Mom: Hahahahaha, oh. He forgot to breathe?
Otter: (LOLING)
(watching some more 'breaking news' about Osama Bin Laden)
Otter: Cholera! He died of cholera?! WHAT?!
Mom: Ah... I see. That's common in Pakistan.
Otter: (LOLING) He died by a tiny mosquito.

** Yes, I am aware that he was killed by US Forces at his house. This was before they had any updates about it. Now that it has been updated...

Mom: He was killed by US Forces at his house. Osama was chilling at his house pala... Tangengot!

- After almost 10 years, constant planning and sending in so many soldiers to fight this war is finally over. I'm upset that it took so long, losing hundreds of thousands of young men and women who risked their lives to make the United States safe for everyone else. I lost some friends, my father lost some friends and battle buddies. we give them our thanks and prayers in honor of their brave hearts. I'm officially enlisted in the US Air Force, as a DEPPER, I'm ready for training, I'm ready for tech school, I'm ready to live my life in the Air Force and make a career out of it and I am aware of what is to come, and I'm ready. I'm a fighter, I'm strong and I got the wings of the Air Force. We (all military branches) will keep fighting for the safety of the United States and our families... Even though justice has been done, we will relentlessly keep striving for a more safer place, prevent even more disasters such as 9/11 and killing more innocent and brave soldiers and keep standing up to make peace with other countries and make the world a better place. We will do our best to mend what we can, fix what can be fixed and help those who need our help for peace with one another. One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Signing off,
Otter
