 A few days ago, since I didn't want to assume anything, I texted Derp (also because out of boredom and I like throwing him off with serious questions out of the blue).

Me: Hey hey hey just wondering. Are we, like, exclusively dating?

Derp: Why? Did you find someone better looking and more charming than me? Ha! As if! I think we are. I mean I don't want to date anyone else atm so yeah... XD but do YOU want to be exclusively dating moi?

Me: Why yes I did find someone better looking and more charming. But he's not weird and he's not into poetry. LOLZ. Well I don't want to date anyone else and I don't mind dating exclusively. DATING IS HARD ENOUGH AS IT IS. Lol ok. Just checking.

 The next day, Derp asked me what made me ask him about our relationship so I relayed to him my conversation with Chi.

Me: ... Think about it! There's so many possibilities! Like, is it exclusive if there is mutual understanding? Or if one of them makes a move? Or is it already implied once you're going out? Or people just don't talk about it and just go with the flow? Or do they actually talk about it first and THEN become exclusive? Or is it-

Derp: ALRIGHT ALREADY WE'RE EXCLUSIVELY DATING
