So finally, I'm online. I haven't been online since Thursday! Sad face.
Anyways!
March 03, 2012: I had a DEP Commanders Call (CC) and we had a hiking trip. I was pretty excited about it because I haven't hiked in so long so I was stoked. So we meet up at University Village (which is like, 15 minute walk away from my house) and I meet up with the early ones and I get there at 8:30am. We had to wait for everyone else to come and show up... And all the late ones had to sing "I'm A Little Teapot", with the dance moves AND do it enthusiastically. Some of them were sore losers about it but honestly, that's not even close to what you'll get in basic training because they will make you do things that are beyond embarrassing. So, be prepared.
When we were all dismissed to head out to the mountain (we had to drive a bit to get there), I rode in Bayson's 68' Mustang. It was a sweet ride! Bayson and I are the newest ones in the squadron, we both went to MEPS about the same time and our first DEP CC was our first. So yay! I'm not the only new one but I'm still practically the only girl. Womp womp.
OH, TWO GIRLS SHOWED UP. But they're never around so they're considered ghosts in my book. And one guy brought his girlfriend on the hike so was super awkward. And not the good kind either. Lol. She was a bit creepy.
ANYWAYS, we get to the mountain and we start hiking, it was great... Until we got to the middle. It was starting to get horrible because the pathway was becoming really narrow and there were more rocks where you have to use your hands to get up there and we all basically bear-crawled up the mountain. It was pretty intense! My legs were like, "Give it up! Stop! Nooooooooooooooo!" but my mind and rest of the body was like, "Damn it, legs! Hurry the eff up!" but I didn't give up, although I did stop for a break and caught up to everyone else.
After we made it to the top, we had to go down... Which sounds easy but as we go down, there were a lot of going up's. -_- lol. But it was good because I got to talk to some of the people on my squadron and some are actually leaving in two days or sometime this month! Actually, one guy who's going for USAF Security Forces is leaving tomorrow! (Monday)
After our four hour, 9.5 mile hike... We ended the day BUT I still had to walk home and walk the dogs AND do errands and since I don't have a car, I have to walk some more. So all together, I spent 3.2 miles walking, just doing errands alone. -_-
So from 8:30am~6pm, I did not stop using my feet and honestly, I felt good but I didn't shower the whole time so I felt really sticky and I smelt like dirt too. After I took a shower and finally sat down, my legs started to throb even after I stretched afterwards.
Now that it's the morning after, my legs are stiff like a mothertrucker. I'm seriously waddling the whole day... And I'm going to look weird waddling in church. HOWEVER, today is Break the Fast (no, not breakfast) soooooo you know what that meeeeeans... FOOD! <3
Waddle-y and hungry,
Otter
PS: I think on our next DEP CC, we'll be doing a car wash and with the money that we raise, it will go to a charity that we can find OR... We're going to a blood bank and donating blood. We could do the blood donation for the month of May. I don't know, we'll see.
