USAF Process.

So this coming Wednesday, I'll be heading down to the recruiters office and I'll be sent to the hotel and Thursday, I have to get up at 4am and head down to the hospital for the MEPS process. (Yippy.)

Once I've sworn in, (hopefully it's the day of) all I have to do is wait for one of my job selections (the jobs that I have selected that I wanted to do based on my ASVAB score; which is basically like an entrance test and sees what kind of jobs you're capable of doing based on your general knowledge.) and when the Air Force has an opening for a job and it's one of the ones I selected (I picked about 10+) then my recruiter will call me, ask if I want to take it and if I take it, she will book me a spot and give me the date.

Then more processing happens. I go back for a MEPS check up (yeah, they do one before you leave for basic training) and then they will give me a brief summary of things and then put me on a bus to the airport and then I'll head to Texas, get picked up by a shuttle/bus and then go to the Lackland AFB where BMT (basic military training) will start.

Now, here's what: In basic training, we are not allowed computers or cellphones. Depending on your MTI (military training instructor), they will allow you to make five minute calls from your cellphone but if you get one that's anal about it, you will have to stick to quarters and putting them in payphones.

Basic Military Training is a 8.5 week process. It starts from 0500 (5am) to 2100 (9pm) hours. But I don't trust that because depending on if your flight gets in trouble, you stay up longer and you have duty shifts so sometimes most of you don't sleep.

So for about almost three months, I will not be able to go online.

Once I graduate (hopefully, it's on time), I will have time to go online during my break. And then when I head to my Tech School (Technical School) and I'll all set up, then I will be able to go online. (But that depends too, because I don't know if I will have a laptop prior to BMT or if I would have to get on when I'm at Tech School) but there is a rule that you cannot have certain things or have certain benefits once you arrive and there's a 30-day rule. After 30 days of arriving at your Tech School and you've passed all the inspections and whatnot, then you will be granted the benefit of having certain things on your desk and having a laptop and even having the privilege of going off base. You have to earn everything.

But once I'm on my break, I will blog ASAP.

Ahhh! Just thinking about BMT, I'm so excited. LOL.
